BEACH BABIES

Woo, we’re making progress over here! Like I’m 10 boxes packed, and when I uploaded these photos of my beach babies the other night after writing “Jumping Trains” I criedcriedcried, but tonight? I’m smiling. 🙂 (see that emoji? Smiling!)

I think I’ve gone through a grief cycle with accepting the reality of this move. I started with feeling shocked, then I was so sad. By last Sunday I was basically angry about the change and its cons, and since getting passed those mad feelings, I’ve been okay (POOR Ryan. He lives on one wild rollercoaster with me)! Being so busy with trying to find a house and set up our lives in St. George has helped tons. The girls are signed up for dance classes, Emmy is destined for preschool, and the big girls are ready to roll up to the front doors of their new elementary school come the first week of September. I’m so relieved for life to be breathed back into our everyday via this move. The past six months of being asked to stay home and do nothing has been nothing but a slow, painful death sentence for our squad. We’re in a stage of life where being busy is welcomed, not overwhelming. We are so grateful for the chance to get back on our social, mental, educational and emotional feet through this change. And we’re so grateful at the prospect of finding our home for this next adventure. We have a few specifics we’re looking for as we hunt for our place — a home office for Ryan, a playroom for the girls, and a backyard for me (to further watch those darling girls running and romping and rolling). Lots to look forward to. Lots to be grateful for!

Speaking of those darling girls, here’s a slew of shots I got of them en route to our beach for an afternoon beach walk back in June. The San Diego greens were killing me (I love the landscaping here), and each girl killed me by grabbing  a pair of sunnies on our way out of the car. I love these beach babies. They are PURE sunshine. So grateful for our hundreds of beach memories from days like that day…
