A house needs a grandpa in it.
Even if it’s just for a Sunday.
My parents popped into town last Saturday because Shandon and Talli had their second baby boy (three big cheers, Olivia’s second cousin-boyfriend is here)!
Grandpa and Olivia spent some extra quality time together on Sunday. The two were a natural pair and bonding happened at its best. It was Grandpa and only Grandpa that coaxed Olivia to sleep during church. Curled up in his arms, she slept there for the better part of an hour and he was in heaven.
So was I as I watched them, my sweet dad and my baby.
The flood kept Olivia and Grandpa Gub from meeting at her birth, and then we didn’t go home for two months afterward, so those two needed a good moment together. Their Sunday time made me happy.
Melted my heart, really. Through and through.

I can't wait to see Grandma and Grandpa Gubler in a few months too! I hope they'll be just excited to see me as they are to see Olivia and all their other grandchildren:))
