MOVED.

Don’t worry. That truck was not a junk yard by the time we put up the boards and called the company to “Come and get her.” Ryan, my brother-in-law BJ, and my brother Shandon (and a couple guys from our ward, too) put Tetris to shame and cajolled our material possessions – sans three bags – into just five feet of space. I am grateful for their skills and work, because using such a small (comparatively) amount of space saved us nearly $900 dineros. Hallelujah.

…I can’t believe that all happened so quickly. I’m sitting here in Santa Clara – home! – which is sweet. But we’re not going back to Utah Valley. In fact, we’re totally leaving Utah.

I’m super mixed in my feelings. But I keep getting these tender mercies about living back East and away from family – short convos here and there with veterans, an Instagram feed here and there at bespeaks the magic of the East, I’ve read a few blog posts from people I admire about what it was like when they “lived away”…so I’m ready. Goodbyes stink (already cried through three of them), but this is right. And it will be so good.

Thinking about what I’m going to and not what I’m leaving behind has been my key. Good change, a pretty, new apartment, a lovely city, new people, new friends – we really are so lucky that this chapter gets to be apart of our story! I had an inkling three years ago that East Coast living would happen to us, and now it’s happening, and I feel blessed. The end.

I moved to Boston sight-unseen many years ago and it was the best decision I ever made. I have loved it. You will too!!

Boston. Ah-mazing. The "sight-unseen" way of putting it is absolutely perfect, too. I'm so glad you loved your adventure. We ARE loving ours so far, too. Yay!

You're so kind, Andrea. Why you feel that way about me, I'll never know. I do know that I cherish what you and Chuck have taught me about sacrifice and love. Man, you two. Powerhouse pair. xoxox.
