Hello, Wednesday (which is crazy)! This week is flying by for me. Every week seems to be flying by, though, right? Ms. Time is the best hustler I know. She doesn't stop for anything or anyone. I've been thinking so much about how everyone everywhere has the same 24 hours in the day, and you fit what's important to you into your 24 hours. If something matters to you, you'll include it in your day, your week, your month. If it isn't, you won't. In fact, you won't even thinking about working it into your day, whatever "it" is -- your project, your friend, your laundry. :) "It" won't even cross your mind.

I got on this train after thinking about my June Project. I didn't write multiple times a week there like I thought I would. I did blog more consistently than I have in a LONG time, but there were still gaps in there where I didn't take the time to write. I realized my priorities -- that I cared more about being with whatever people we had here (we had visitors for a straight month between June - July!) and going to bed a little earlier > staying up to blog.

This, then, got me thinking about the things I ALWAYS prioritize and why...

Scripture study and exercise came to mind right away. I honestly can't afford to go without them. I need God's help to care for my family and to progress myself, and to have a strong mind and body. Just not enough on my own over here!

Sleep has shoved its way up my priorities ladder since I crashed last fall. I now know what it's like to be out of commission due to exhaustion and stress, and I don't want to go there again.

Cooking real food. I hate being sick, and I hate feeling bloated and swollen from eating junky food. I happily make the time to make real, good food

20 minute naps every day, right when my girls start their show time. I'm always up in the night for someone, and that small boost helps me a lot/it's become important to me.

Connecting with at least one friend somehow either by text, IG, Marco Polo, FaceTime, or in person.

Cleaning my house. I actually spend a lot of time cleaning every day. One day I'll be in a life season that won't be so messy, but for now, our lives are messy and for sanity's sake, I'm happy to stay on top of the mess.

Updating + managing our budget. Another time-consuming something, but strictly budgeting is saving us money, and that saved money means a lot to us.

Getting the girls out to PLAY. Makes us ALL so happy to be out moving around.

Talking to Ryan when the girls are down. Sometimes we have 10 minutes before he needs to work again; sometimes we have all night. It's realllly hard for anything else to come before my Ryan time.

I then had to flip this scenario and ask myself what I DON'T prioritize (and probably should!) and why...

Doing my hair. I think doing my hair every day feels like a waste of time right now? ๐Ÿ˜‚ I don't know, but I definitely don't have anybody to impress, and it takes a lot of time to make my naturally curly/wavy mane look lovely, so I care enough to touch it up and that's about it.

Putting on nice makeup. Same reasons as above -- don't have the time to do that dance, or the crowd to impress with a ton of makeup. I'm okay with simple, too (I love the natural look).

TV Shows. I've never been a show watcher. Not sure why, TV just doesn't draw me in. I still have to check myself with how much time I spend on my phone, though. Getting sucked into screens is so easy to do. SO grateful I deleted IG a couple months ago and learned what my limits are!

Reading books. I pick up a book almost every night to help me fall asleep - and hey, maybe that's why I don't read more? Haha, it makes me fall asleep?? I'm a fast reader - almost too fast of a reader. I inhale the book and move on. But I know my brain would like to read more, so I need to make more time for it.

Finishing my online classes (branding design from Branding with Bre and child photography from Nicole Hill Gerulat). I forget about the classes I'm enrolled in, honestly, but I started them to keep learning and honing my skills and I LOVE learning, so I need to start penciling them in and caring about them more!

Anyway, enough from long-winded me. This is an interesting conversation to have with yourself, though, if you never have. What do you make time for? WHY. Really, what do you move mountains for and WHY.  What matters to you? What doesn't? WHY. Because what you care about defines you. I'm not conscious of that enough -- that my my priorities determine what I will and will not do, which molds me, giving me a particular character and a specific reputation. Priorities place you in certain social circles (usually with those that have the same priorities)! Priorities write the past and shape the future. Finding out our "whats" and our WHYS, especially, is so worth our while.

As always, thanks for listening to my thoughts.  ๐Ÿ’› To wrap this post up, I thought I'd let y'all hear some of my Emmy's big thoughts! ;) I took the following photos of her after my sweet friend, Christina, sent her that darling bib. Wait, Emmy's wearing a bib?! Looks like a shirt, doesn't it! I love that about Christina's bibs, which is why I was totally happy to help her spread the word about them when she asked. I always do a double-take when I see Christina's photos on her IG account ("That's a cute shirt on that little guy. Oh wait. That's a cute BIB on that little guy!" ๐Ÿ˜‚). Check out Christina's shop here (go Christina, go)!

"Let's get this partay started!"
"Cottage cheese! Yaaaaauum."
Oh hi, doll-face Olivia. ๐Ÿ˜
 "Ope, was that me?"
"Here, how 'bout we ditch the spoon and do this the easy way."
 "Oh. You're watching me, Mama?...
 "That's cool."
 Get it, baby girl.
Oh hi, doll-face Claire. ๐Ÿ˜
Ahh, she comes up for air!
 Back to business. ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹
The end! ๐Ÿ˜˜
