Pic via: my bed yesterday morning. I had just finished studying and was snapping this pic when the laundry was plopped on the bed (Ry had to find his workout clothes quickly) -- happy Saturday to Us!
(Mega JK -- it was actually a big day of play, and Ryan folded that laundry in about 3 minutes. ๐Ÿ™Œ  )
Entry from Wednesday, March 8

2 Nephi 31:13
"If ye shall follow the Son, with full purpose of heart, acting no hypocrisy and no deception...but with real intent, repenting of your sins, witnessing unto the Father that ye are willing to take upon you the name of Christ...then shall ye receive the Holy Ghost...then can ye speak with the tongue of angels, and shout praises to the Holy One of Israel."

Hypocrisy. It's such a barrier to being truly close to Christ and having His strength in your life (I mean, duh). Makes me more sad than motivated to think about that right now, though, because I was such a hypocritical mother yesterday. When I stop and think about it, I can be a hypocrite to the girls in general. Sometimes I justify double-standards -- they can't do this, but I can. I ask teach them that we are peaceful in our home - IE, no yelling - but then I end up yelling louder than anyone because I feel unheard?? (Not okay).

How do I recover from that/from hypocrisy? And prevent it?

(I sat and thought on that Q for a few minutes...)

I guess verses 17, 20, and 21 verses teach me:

"Do the things that your Lord and Redeemer should do" (verse 17)
- Pray for His thoughts, responses and attitudes. Then just starting acting like Him.

"Press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope" (verse 20)
- So stop beating yourself up and carry on. Be optimistic about the chance to do better every day.

"Feasting upon the word of Christ" (verse 20)
- Connect with Him. If I fill up my mind and spirit with accounts from His life - how He acted, what He did - His character has much greater chance of becoming my character.

"And endure." (verse 20)
- Mistakes are part of the ride. Just keep trying!!

"Behold, my beloved brethen, this is the way." (verse 21)

And that way couldn't be more clear.

I'm so grateful. Feeling hopeful now! ๐Ÿ’›
