SWEET IS THE WORD! BEING GUIDED + HELPED TO SERVE VIA ABRAHAM 1:18-19

Entry from Sunday, November 13 (today!)
Abraham 1:18-19
"Behold, I will lead thee by my hand, and I will take thee...and my power shall be over thee.

"As it was with Noah so shall it be with thee...through thy ministry my name shall be known in the earth forever, for I am God."

The context of verse 18 is so powerful - Abraham's escape from being beheaded by the Pharaoh in Egypt as a sacrifice to their idol. If the Lord can take him out of that terrifying situation (and not just "take him out," but take Him with total, divine protection to a new, better life), why can't He help me? Why can't He lead me by the hand in my very normal, non-Abraham-like daily life?

He can. He absolutely can.

I also love the next verse and the reminder that through my ministries - the roles I have that are centered on attending to the needs of others - that is how Christ comes alive. I want to be a better minister this week to my Ryan, my little girls, family, neighbors and friends. I hope I can be less guarded and hesitant to serve...I've felt that lately and I don't want to anymore. I'm praying for Him to lead me like He did Abraham - to put His power over me and take me to a better place this week. So grateful for the reminder in these verses that He can.

PS, if you regularly come around here to read what's up with my life, forgive me for my recent hiatus. I hope to get back on here tonight or early tomorrow morning and write about everything that's happened around here -- it's been a little crazy. You know what it's like when winds are blowing and you just need to hold still for a bit and hold on to what matters most - your people? It's been that way, but I think I have my bearings well enough now to spend more time here again. Because it feels good to be here! It always feels good to be here. :)
