Pic via: the beach at Torrey Pines early yesterday morning (surprise surprise surprise)! ;) I had a fairly human Friday. I was stressed out about an issue outside of my family, and of course, I took out all the feelings on my family. Mostly on Ryan (why does that happen? It's so awful). Anyway, my morning run, reading here on the beach, and coming across the scripture below helped me a lot. See below. :)
Entry from Saturday, July 23
John 4:20-21
"If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

"And this commandment we have from him, That he who loveth God loveth his brother also."

This just chilled me out (and thank goodness for that). I can't act like I know and love Him if I don't love my Ryan in full (or if I'm hard on the girls, or if I shut out a friend, etc. etc.) You can't say you're a nice person while being a mean person (and it only takes being mean to one).

I'll go home and be nice (please, please help me!!)

PS...took me a couple hours more, I can't lie, but I indeed went home and turned nice. :)

  1. Jeni, I seriously love you. I feel like I am far too familiar sometimes with these feelings you describe. This old life is such a teacher, isn't it? Thanks for being vulnerable and sticking those feelings out there like that. It blesses us all.

    1. You sweetheart friend. You're so welcome. :) I thank you right back for being willing to read and to hear me out. I love you, Joanna!!
