Pic via: this one was set up tonight. Note my perfect assistant, Olivia, who jumped on the scene to help (she does that whenever she sees me setting up still-life shots. She's thoughtful, that girl). I meant to snap a pic of the quiet, empty kitchen table that hosted a number of my studies this week, but I never caught it, so I hit the porch this evening as the sunset with a white poster board --> our kitchen table. :)

Entry from Thursday, March 24
Genesis 1:26-27
"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our own likeness...So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."

Q) How does knowing that each person is created in God's image help us in our association with others? (question from March's Visiting Teaching message -- my Church's Visiting Teaching program is explained HERE)

A) It helps tremendously.

Realizing that the next girl was created by God, and that she is God's daughter just as much as I am, grants me a new pair of eyes. The way He feels about us all is exactly the same, so I could care less about our differences. And about disagreements. That silly issue a friend and I had? I could care less under this mindset. When push comes to shove, we are both like Him, we are both His, we are both sisters in His family.

I could care less that the neighbor across the parking lot is kind of scary looking. I can see past his unkempt facade. He is a brother and He is a son of God.

Helping the elderly lady around the corner doesn't annoy me for a second. God needs someone to help His frail little girl. I'd want someone to help my ailing daughter, too.

Knowing that each person is created in God's image is the great equalizer. It is the great empowerer. You gain a capacity to love everyone and you become one that literally loves everyone. What a beautiful thing to feel and to be.
