My sister's home is a dream. It is filled with light - literally from all the windows and figuratively from how much happiness is there. And it is beautiful. It is Pottery Barn Kids + Cath Kidston + Sarah Jane Studios. Hello, loveliness.

To the neighborhood it is known as "Honeymoon Hill" (a nickname from its former days as a small house for new couples), but in my mind it is "The Perfect House." I could live there for the rest of my life and be 100% happy.

Olivia and I spent most of today there playing with Lolly and Ellie. She watched everything the big girls did and soaked in their doting attention. I so loved being an onlooker of the three of them together. Their age differences mattered little as they really enjoyed each other.

Time slowed down for a few hours as I watched them. There are few things better than real, simple childhood. Mothering is welcoming me back to that time as Olivia grows and I'm loving it (there's yet another perk of motherhood, in my book).

From wooden blocks, to Strawberry Shortcake dolls from my playroom growing up, to "baby toys," said Lolly, we played played played in the basement for quite a while. Olivia sat up on her own, big and tall, as Ellie and Lolly showed her how to really play.
All that playing worked up some serious appetites, so we made our way upstairs to have PB&J's and pureed peas. I told the girls to smile for a picture before we feasted, and Lolly said, "Plaaaaaces everyone!"

This was "places," everyone. :)
The girls, the house, the playing - the whole day was all sorts of perfect. 'Twas a pleasure to be a part of it.

  1. I too love their house. I WANT that kitchen! It's absolutely gorgeous!
